This one is a continuous mix of house tracks heavy on the rock, retro & electro influence from summer & fall 2007. Made it completely on the fly, in my spare bedroom as a kind of catharsis after losing a loved one this week. It’s raw, imperfect and from a guy in semi-retirement from the club scene since May 2007. This my newest dance mix – a lot of progressive to electro house, but a mix for anyone seeking an energetic mix for dancing, driving or just getting the juices flowing. I have included some of this past winter’s biggest hits, a couple of newer releases and even some white label material to keep it interesting. For those of you in the DC area looking for a point of reference, think Chroma, Spank, or Glow – only I have made sure to include plenty of tracks with “words” for those of you who worry about singing along…

While I am still waiting for a big studio recording opportunity, this disc, like all my others, was recorded chez Sammy B on my couch with my bad-ass Denon 1800-F and even more impressive Numark mixer. That means like all the others, this bad boy was mixed live, by ear. The Geico caveman probably had the same set-up…

This is a mix CD that "The Other Guy" and I put together back in the late 90's as one of many nightclub openers/pre-mixes for use at The Spot nightclub in downtown DC. One of DC's most successful nightclub promotions of its time (3,000-4,000 people per night), The Spot ran for almost 4 years with DJ Sammy B in residency. As the patrons would enter the club we would mix out of discs like this and go live for a high energy night of retro dance. We hope that you enjoy it!
